Publications
AIMA plays an important
and effective role in the dissemination of information and has an active
publications program. Every year AIMA publishes a volume of the AIMA
Bulletin, four newsletters and an
occasional special publication, each
packed with results of research, excavation work and projects in hand from
across Australia and overseas. Indexes to the AIMA Bulletins are now being made
available on line. (See 'The Bulletin' below) Back copies of the AIMA Bulletin
and Special Publications are currently
available for the purchase price of just $2 a copy (plus postage and
handling) except for the more recent copies which are on sale at retail prices.
You may need to install the free Acrobat Reader
to view some of the documents. AIMA acknowledges the assistance of the
Australian National Centre of Excellence for Maritime Archaeology.

The AIMA Bulletin
The Bulletin is one of only three
journal publications in the world dedicated to maritime archaeology and the
only one that focuses on Australasia and the surrounding regions. It
has been successfully published for the last 30 years and contains a
wealth of information from when maritime archaeology first started in Australia!
Topics cover the international scene as well as a myriad of Australasian
projects including shipbuilding, coastal archaeology, maritime cultural
landscapes, flying boat wrecks, underwater and coastal survey
and excavations, conservation methods and experiments, in-situ
preservation, artefact studies, GIS methods and application, whaling wreck
studies, iron and steamships, World War II wreck sites, site-specific
research, historic jetty projects, submarine research, maritime heritage
management issues, etc.
